Paperclip Lamp in Its Place

When I changed positions at the university at which I am employed, I had the opportunity to make the space my own. I’ve been discussing the search for a lamp for my desk here and here.

On Monday, Facilities brought back the desk return I had started out with—narrower but longer—so i thought I would wait to show the pictures.

Recall that I had tried two lamp bases, having given up on the paperclip lamp. Then it was a matter of which shade was better for the office. These shades and lamp bases were bought at Walmart.

So now, for your shopping pleasure . . .

And then there came the paperclip lamp, from Pier 1.

Below are pictures that compare the two different desks. The top one is deeper than the second one.

I also gained a foot in length to my left, and I got an extra drawer, which allowed me to take the file off the desk. It is also better to be able to lock those items in the drawer.

The picture on the wall is of my children. The picture on the computer was taken by my daughter. It is a close-up of a tiny flower that’s about the size of your fingertip.
